The police and army issue entry instructions to the Marash area (Varosha)

The decision to “open the (Varosha) coastal road to the public” comes into effect. Both civilians and members of the press were permitted entry.

Police and military officers reminded the rules to be followed due to the epidemic, and brochures had been distributed as well .

Following the instructions, entry to the area started around 12:00.

The Army Command announced the opening of a closed section of Varosha for pedestrian visits between 9.00 and 17.00 starting from today and announced the rules to be followed.
It was emphasized in the statement issued by the Army Command that adherence to the rules and warnings specified during the visit is important for the safety of life, and these regulations will be in effect until the completion of the infrastructure work in the area.

In a statement, which drew attention to buildings and places that had lost their carrying capacity and to the water well and sewage pits that could not be seen clearly, visitors were asked to be careful for their safety.
The security forces command also announced the opening of part of the closed Varosha area for the public to visit between 09:00 and 17:00 from today, and announced the rules to be followed.

In this way ;

– A visit can be done on foot between 9 am and 5 pm.
– Visitors can enter from the area where the Fazil Küçük Stadium is located, and they will be able to visit Demograsi Street and Bilal Agha Mosque on this street and Kennedy Street in the coastal part and the area (excluding military installations) to the east (sea side).
– It is important for visitors not to go out from the designated roads and areas in order to preserve the safety of life, not to enter any buildings, not to wander between shrubs and grassy areas due to the presence of wild / poisonous animals in the area, and to adhere to the warnings specified .

– Taking pictures is only allowed from areas open to visitors, with the exception of using drones. However, no items will be removed from the space open to visitors
– It is dangerous to exit the roads due to the abundance of invisible water wells and sewage pits .

In addition, the parts that may fall from the structures of the buildings that have lost their bearing capacity may endanger the safety of people’s lives.

– In the event of a potential danger, assistance can be requested by calling the Alo 155 Police emergency line.

– The continuity and development of this practice will be evaluated as long as our respectable people abide by the rules.
