The Ministry of Health will implement new laws for students coming to Northern Cyprus early next week

Turkish Northern Cyprus Health Minister Dr. Ali Pilli announced through his statement the decisions that will be taken for students coming to Northern Cyprus, due to the recent increase in internal cases of the Covid-19 virus.

Minister Pilli made the following statements;

Recently, local pollution has started to appear with an increase in the number of cases, in line with the arrival of arrivals from abroad to our country. As the Ministry of Health, we continue to take all measures regarding each of those who come to our country from abroad and have positive and domestic cases. The Ministry of Health informed the population that we will decide to open schools in line with the consultations that will be held with the Supreme Committee for Infectious Diseases and the Ministry of Education on September 11, that is, before moving to the stage of education that is expected to take place face to face on September 14 in schools.

As for higher education for universities, it will be a legal obligation for teachers and students from abroad to be isolated for a week before going to university. According to the Communicable Diseases Act, penalties will be imposed on those who do not abide by the rules in accordance with the necessary legal procedures. Whereas, the law will ensure criminal penalties are imposed on those who do not follow the rules, and it will come into effect next week.

I want you to know that the health of our people comes first. Therefore the necessary penalties will be imposed on companies and individuals who do not comply with the rules in line with the powers granted by law. And my greatest expectation is that our people and residents will defeat this epidemic together and continue to abide by the rules regarding their health. The use of sanitary masks, social distancing and compliance with hygiene rules will be our strongest shield in this epidemic. ”
