Referring to the background of the Al Jazeera report, the European Union launches an investigation into violations of Cyprus and Malta regarding “golden passports”

On Tuesday, the European Commission will finalize and launch violations measures against Cyprus and Malta regarding the controversial “Golden Passport” plans. Vice President Marus Civkovic told reporters in Brussels that the plans used to grant investors European Union citizenship. “We will finalize the release of the measure for investor charts on Tuesday morning. The plan ,which has been criticized for some time both at home and abroad, was suspended last week.
